The Urban Retro Playlist

In the spirit of mothers day the Song of the day is Goodbye's (The Saddest Word)by Celine Dion from the album A New Day Has Come released in 2002. It may not be her most famous song but its very emotional and it explains the kind of connection a child and a mother have and losing ones mother. It was written and produced by Robert John "Mutt" Lange and the additional/back up vocals by country singer Shania Twain. One thing she said that i feel was very touching was "there is no other love like a mothers love for a child." it could be likened to God's Love. It the kind of song that could lead a "nigga to cry and I aint even tripping" (*In Riley from boondocks voice.*) So to all the mothers in the world and the best MUM in the world (duh my mum) this one i dedicated to you, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.

I'm creating this playlist just to relax, with the week i've had I think I really need it. I'm imagining the songs I will listen to while I try to relax and meditate tonight. So I'm going to compile a sample playlist. I hope you're able to listen  and enjoy the following songs; 

The song of the day is Faith by Kendrick Lamar featuring BJ The Chicago Kid and Punch from his EP released in 2009. The song is about the daily sturugles you face in life, the pressures, back sliding and just having and losing faith in general. He spoke from different perspectives: how it affected his and other peoples decisions,beliefs and behaviour. What he was say were things I could relate to esspecially some lines in the 4th verse
"Searching for answers, that's human nature, you ain't in the wrong
Just know when you feeling that way spirit's in the room
I watched people I know pray and catch the Holy Ghost
And wonder why I ain't ever caught that feeling before
Maybe they know Him better, or I don't know no better

There were a lot of things he also said that made too much sense. Its the kind of song you have to paitiently listen to so you can understand the story completly (obviously most songs are like that but you just have to folloew the story). In conclusion the message was you should keep going though its going to get harder, but if you can hold on to what you believe you can overcome. This is one of my best songs from the E.P and i recommend you listen to it.

Yeah yeah yeah, erm i was been feeling bad the past few days and i really din't know why, then i decided to go through a few pictures to cheer myself up. So i compiled them hoping to get someone out of a similar situation even if i can solve your mind numbing problem at least i should be able to make you laugh a little and just ease up some tension, Enjoy!

The song of the day is Meet Me Halfway by the Black Eyed Peas off their Fifth studio album The E.N.D(2009), it was one of the biggest selling tracks of 2009. The song included verses from each member of the group and the chorus was done by a Madonna inspired Fergie. The song had that their regular futuristic funk vibe but an R&B vibe also. Lyrically it spoke about Love and reuniting I guess, each member of the group had a different perspective when they were describing their journey and there plans to re-unite.  It did very well on several charts and was commercially successful. It was also performed Live on the british edition of the X-Factor. It has this calm relaxing feel about it and i don't know why it has just been on replay on my playlist recently.

I just saw the the Nike boots, the summer collection (not just sha but not long ago also) and they were just too sexy i had to post them. Asin what a man could do with this boots though (if you suck at soccer you would probably still suck but at least you would look good )

Yeah i've been off for a while i had to fix my computer and work has been quite hectic the past days. But im back with a compilation of some funny pictures for you to enjoy. You know how we do!! Lol, enjoy!

Yeah I just listened to The Rap Is Deep The Project Is Deeper E.P by Omari, I've been anticipating its release and it was as good as i expected. I listened to it twice before I began to write about it. He is a Christian rapper, his project was based mostly on how people live, his christian life;  the struggle, sin, vanity backsliding, the love of God among other things. He made several references to verses in the bible. My favorite track was actually the skit "Too Big Too Little" then "When I Get To Heaven" a sample of Lana Del Rey's Young and Beautiful and Good Mourning Bad Morning . Though he is still mastering his art he came in with several styles on this project and I must say he killed it. All the songs were strictly rap songs, and he featured other upcoming acts. Also the guy killed me with the album art i mean dayum!!! I recommend you listen to it if you're a Hip Hop fan or not, it made too much sense.

Today i'm gonna be making a playlist of songs featuring someone I consider the best rapper under 30. He has won a Grammy and he has broken several billboard records. He is usually criticized for being a little too emotional but still he makes very good music. With 3 multi-platinum albums and several mixtapes I give you Aubrey Graham. The following are a few song to enjoy from the rapper. I was inspired by my outing during the weekend to write about this, I heard too many awesome jams and I just had to. See the playlist below:

I'The song of the day is Jargo by Jesse Jagz featuring 9ice from his 2013 album Jagz Nation:Thy Nation Come. Im just making this clear this song is different from the other song from his Jag Of All Trades album released in 2010. The instruments used on the beat of the song had this Asian vibe. Well the hook was done by 9ice, it was very indeginous and had some yoruba proverbs in it. The song had this very calm chilling tune. Jesse Jagz went in with this cool kinda slow verse. The instrumental sounded so weird when i first heard it but ended up liking it eventually. With very unorthodox sounds like this made it my best album of 2013 ,i could not just get enough of it.
