Song Of The Day: Sing About Me,I'm Dying Of Thirst

06:17

The song of the day is Sing About Me, I'm Dying Of Thirst off the Good Kid M.A.A.D city album by Kendrick Lamar released late in 2011. This is like one of my best songs,  asin the story he was telling was just too deep and epic and the the effects the producer used complemented the story he was telling awesomely. I would briefly explain the story how I understand it. The first verse he was playing the character of a friend who 'envied' his lifestyle but couldn't become like him. He wanted him to talk about him when he made it. The second verse was connected to his previous project "Section 80", in one of the songs (I think its most likely Keisha's Song but it also be Tammy's Song) someone was pissed at him for talking about their sister and made how she lived. The attention he was bringing to her was unnecessary. Also, she required that lifestyle she adopted to survive. The last verse talks about several things, notably The after life, him trying to inspire people and teach them about the consequences of bad choices and or making the wrong decisions, also right before the Dying of Thirst side of the song began there was a part (kinda like a skit or something cut out from a movie) that sheds more light of the verse. Then the end of the first and second verse were complemented with effects that were related to the last things he said. The Dying of thirst part of the song had a faster beat and a completely different tune, then the background consisted of female vocals that ran through that side of the song. He trying to tell people in the M.A.A.D city to refrain from the lifestyle they have adopted. Then he suggested they find their passion and or they should embrace religion, and at the end of the verse there was another short skit (if I can call it that) where there were some guys that were persuaded to giving their life to Christ. This song is a classic and if you actually take your time to listen and make a good effort understand what he was trying express, you just would feel it.
