The black eyed peas have been around for quiet a while, they've been kinda on and off with members Will.I.Am and Fergie sometimes pursuing their own successful solo careers. The have various sounds but most recently and notable is their EDM era and the album The E.N.D. They enjoyed the most success and were very prominent around the release of this album.
Prior to The E.N.D album they were more like a hip-hop group and began to evolve their sound adding elements of R&B, Pop and Electro to their sound. This was a move that really paid off nicely for them. I remember saying they've been around a while, they have been around over 15 years and have won numerous awards including several Grammy's.
